Housed in an iconic old adobe building in the center of Santa Fe, Sazon gives its patrons a taste of what the authentic Mexico, with its fastest growing ethnic cuisine in terms of popularity, is all about. The artwork is stunning. Starting with a massive chandelier in the main hallway, custom made in Guadalajara and featuring over 16 different lamps, to the furniture and artwork, it is obvious that special attention has been given to the interior decoration. The oil on canvass paintings are beautiful, featuring artists from Mexico City, Guadalajara and Cabo, Mexico. The dining room is warm and inviting with lots of space so you don't feel crowded, but also plenty of romantic and private spots where one can be wrapped in their own cocoon. There is a back room that is part of the dining room but can also be sectioned off for private parties. Lighting has been well thought out and highlights the art without being intrusive. The bar is stunning exhibiting a great sensitivity to the Santa Fe adobe style yet bringing its own clean and refreshed look. The bar, made from recycled parapara wood from Ecuador, houses the largest selection of tequila and mescal in Santa Fe. Bartenders know their craft as evidenced by the signature cocktails featuring tequila and mescal which are subtle and seductive. Try a Sazonrita which is Mezcal, Patron Citronge, fresh lime, agave, and muddled cucumber over ice. It will make a believer out of you when it comes to mescal!

One of the most exquisite cuisines I have ever had. Each dish was a symphony in your mouth. This is not steak and potatoes. If you are a foodie and appreciate a dish that creates a symphony of flavors in your mouth, this is the place. Take the serving staff's recommendations and or the Chef's. I would recommend starting with the Blue crab chowder soup and foie gras. The chef was visiting tables through out the night. He was so kind, friendly, and humble but so proud and honored to have us as guest. What a wonderful experience. Deserves to be in the running for a Michelin Star.

In town for a conference and decided to take a stab at walking in since there were no reservations available and got lucky. We were seated promptly and presented with a wonderful description of the menu. A selection of fresh mole selections was brought to our table. The server described each in exquisite detail. The chef personally came out to thank us for coming out and to make sure we were enjoying our meal. Everything about this experience was remarkable and I walked away knowing that I was fortunate to have been able to dine here.

Excellent selection of entrees so Hard to pick when you're only going to be able to have one meal here. I was pleased with my choice of shrimp Enchiladas, almost ordered the cholula. One of my tablemates ordered it so was able to sample it i am happy with my choice - which was helped by the waiter Diego's description helping me to barrow my selection. Surrounded by images of Frida kahlo made the atmosphere electric at Sazon.

Good food but a disfunctional restaurant, at least the night we were there. Waited over an hour past our reservation for our table. Bartender was great and very good cocktails in a cool setting. Finally got seated but did not see a waiter for another fifteen minutes. Suffice to say the rest of the meal had similar issues with pacing. Three hours for two courses is ridiculous. They were obviously having major issues in the kitchen because the whole room was looking around wondering what was taking so long.Staff never communicated what was going on or apologized. The front of house seemed generally bewildered by whatever was happening in the kitchen. In the end we left before dessert and received a 15% discount (food only) for our troubles. The manager never came over and apologized in person. If Sazon aspires to be the fine dining establishment it's prices demand, the management needs a serious revamp. Running a high end restaurant is about much more than just cooking good food.

I wish I could back all the 5 star reviews Ive written for other restaurants, because this is just at another level! The atmosphere is fantastic, you're surrounded by colorful works or art, and the food is absolutely fantastic! The meal starts with your wait person bringing you samples of six different moles for you to try. After you've tasted them you pair them with whatever protein you like, or you choose from other delicious menu items for those who don't like the mole. Our waiter Cody made an excellent wine recommendation, and the chefs special dessert is a real treat. Our waiter narrated as we ate, adding to the experience in a surprising way. Our second desert was an ice cream dish served under a smoke filled dish. I usually skip desert, but not at Salon!

This place is amazing! If you're looking for incredible southwestern food, this is it. Great service and drinks, and a menu that samples from traditional Latin dishes while giving a refreshing take on them.

Outstanding service. The menu sorely lacked plant-based options however. Great presentation in the things we got. Flights of tequila were interesting and fun.

This is an EXCEPTIONAL restaurant! The bartender was creative and very well informed! Our server, Carla, was absolutely perfect. She was very knowledgeable, very helpful, very kind, and extremely wise. She actually seemed to care about us! The food was exquisite!! The chef came to greet us and to make sure the meal was satisfactory. He was a extremely kind and quite private. There were not many plant-based options, but I managed to find enough to satisfy my appetite. I will definitely return to this exquisite restaurant!

One of the greatest meals I have had in some time. So many interesting flavors and combinations. They pride themselves on specializing in mole of which I'm not normally a fan but wow, my mind and palate have been changed. They served a homemade 'New Mexican' mole that I would have every day on everything. The house soup made with poblanos and a whipped crema on top was unlike any soup I've tasted - the perfect combination of heat, cool and flavor that left you wanting more. Drinks were incredible. Service was impeccable. Highly recommend, 5 stars!

As many people mentioned, it is not just a food which is great but incredible hospitality and service. Chef even walked around restaurant at one point and introduced him self asking how we like the food. Will definitely come back to this place!

Last night we had a pleasure of dining at this fine establishment and were truly a treat and an experience to remember.Service was great, but the food...the food, the daily specials were just, well, special :) Sazon’s chef has a fresh take on a modern Mexican cuisine that is borderline fusion, but no matter how you’ll classify it - your taste buds will enjoy it.Chef’s special desert is an absolute must, I have’t tried anything like that before. It starts with avacado ice cream as a base and then explodes in a symphony of 5 different tastes from pine nuts to jalapeño, but it never gets too hot or bitter. To sum it up - I’d come back to Santa Fe just for this dessert:)Cost wise, expect to pay ~$100 per person (3 course meal and alcohol).

Honestly I can’t say enough about this place. Food is inventive with outstanding flavors. Service amazing. Drinks fantastic. The sopa de amor is one of the best things I’ve eaten in a long time. Can’t wait to go back.

Can’t say enough good things about our dining experience here. They kicked off the meal with a mole flight to help us understand the nuances in flavor for all of them. Nice touch. Between the black bean soup and bone marrow appetizer we were incredibly happy with the depth of flavor in each dish. For entrees we had duck in the selected mole and the shrimp enchilada which I loved. The perfect place for a night on the town to celebrate. We even had the chef stop by our table and say hello. Suggest getting a reservation via opentable ahead of time because this place was hopping.

This place deserves a Michelin star. Chef Olea is, among many other things, a master of mole and a conductor of dessert (so much so that he has a dessert named the Dulce Sinfonia - that will blow your palate). Absolutely nothing disappointed me and my wife.

Traditional Mexican and indigenous food with an incredible contemporary take. The food is incredible but it's the service that earns five stars - our waitress was incredible and offered us a full list of best places to visit in Santa Fe and really gave us a restaurant experience worth remembering.

Delicious meal! We came here for restaurant week and I had the black bean soup, the duck, and the chocolate dessert. Honestly I think the soup was my absolute favorite but everything was quite good. We also had a selection of moles to taste as an appetizer. Honestly the only thing I didn't like as much was the chocolate dessert. The chocolate itself was amazingly tasty, but overall I feel it could have been more interesting as it was basically a sponge in the shape of a volcano with a lot of chocolate. A variety of textures could have really made it amazing with some crunchy bits, and maybe some fruit or something spicy to give it more flavor variety.

Been to many truly great restaurants all over the world. This was one of the top 3. Food was incredible, chef was available and personable, restaurant was intimate, fun, and friendly. Had 3 of the best “bites” we have ever had. If you happen to be in Santa Fe do not miss this. A truly great experience.

This is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to! This restaurant is more than just dinner, it is a whole experience. Everyone and I mean everyone (from the hostess to the chef/owner) was extremely nice and welcoming. They explain to you the menu and share with you the flavors of each plate! Everything that we had was truly Mexican and a true delicacy! If you are ever in Santa Fe this is a must! I will probably be back tomorrow!
